Frequently Asked Questions:

Will I be tested over the material in the class?

Yes. In order to receive ABCP credit you must be tested.

What if I don't read the assignment prior to the class?

You need to read the material prior to the class in order to be prepared. Since you will be tested over the material you should be properly prepared.

How many tests will there be during the class?

There will be at least two tests during the ten weeks.

What will determine my class grade?

Your grade will be determined by your (1) test scores (2) written assignments in the forum section (3) classroom participation.

What if I miss a classroom session because I am in surgery?

This could happen and if it does you will not be penalized for it. If you find that this is going to be a problem, you should notify the instructor and you will be given extra work in the forum section to make up for your classroom absence.

I am from outside the USA and in a different time zone can I still take the class?

Yes. If the classroom time is inconvienient for you, arrangements can be made for you to participate only through your work in the forum section of the course.

What will be covered in the on-line classroom session?

Each week, at a pre-assigned day and hour the class will meet in the classroom (chat room). Each week a chapter from the class syllabus will be covered. This material and the assigned papers will be discussed in a seminar like classroom setting with the instructor and your fellow students.

I can't spell well under pressure. Will the class make fun of me?

One of the first things you learn when you take on-line classes is that when you think fast you make lots of typo's and misspellings. Everyone does it and no one will say anything. If you get your point across, that is all that matters.

If I have problems understanding the material is there someone I can go to for assistance?

You can always e-mail your instructor if you have questions and concerns about the class.
